MAT TRAINING

Medication Administration Training is required by VDSS for Childcare Facilities and Day Homes that will be administering medications to children in the facility. It is taught by an Approved MAT Trainer. MAT certification is good for 3 years.

HOW IT WORKS: 

Step 1  - MAT IS (Independent Study) - The first half (PART 1) of the class is done ONLINE. This part is FREE. (Click HERE to create an account and begin the online session.) You MUST complete this online session before registering for PART 2.

Step 2 - After successful completion of PART 1, you attend PART 2, which is at a physical location (listed below). Be sure to bring your CPR/First Aid Card, PHOTO ID, and Completion Certificate/Print out from Part 1.  ALSO, YOU MUST REGISTER and PAY IN ADVANCE FOR PART 2. NO WALK-INS ARE ALLOWED.

YOU MUST REGISTER FOR PART 2 PRIOR TO ATTENDING! The max class size is 6 and classes fill quickly. Payment MUST be received before the class date to guarantee a spot in the session. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS! You may move registrations to another date, or have another person attend in your spot, but no refunds will be issued!

Classes


This class teaches CPR & choking, water hazards, fun activities to entertain children of various age groups, infant and child feeding, diapering procedures, providing emergency care, basic first aid care and much more! Class includes a certification card to show parents that you are a certified CABS babysitter, and a book to review everything you will learn in the class.

Teaches Childcare Providers how to Identity and Exclude potentially contagious children from the licensed facility. Shows examples of childhood illnesses and covers topics such as Infection Control Techniques and Facility Sanitation Guidelines
